Winter Gardens, City of Sunderland

The new Winter Garden is linked to a restored museum, & art gallery sited in the historic Mowbray Park area of the city centre.  Within the large glazed dome structure visitors can enjoy large scale tropical planting, streams, pools and a central water sculpture.

Combined Courts Centre, Bournemouth

This was the first new court building in the country that incorporated natural ventilation and cooling whilst following "green and sustainable" principles. five Crown, one Civil and one Child Case Courtrooms together with District Judges  Chambers were provided.

The Law Courts, Newcastle upon Tyne

New major civic courthouse for The Lord Chancellor’s Department is located on the historic Newcastle upon Tyne Quayside.  Comprising ten Crown and three County Courts, this building represented the first of twelve Courthouses which Napper have designed to date, eight of which have been built.

Fire & Rescue Stations, Tyne and Wear

A PFI scheme for the Tyne & Wear Fire and Civil Defence Authority comprising six new fire stations together with a new Brigade Headquarters and an Operations and Technical Services building.  The design for the new stations integrates community facilities into the heart of the building whilst maintaining the functional needs of the Brigade.

Combined Law Courts, Bradford

Situated in the  centre of Bradford, the combined Law Courts contains ten courtrooms and is fully clad in Stanton Moor sandstone.

Justice Centre, City of Sunderland

Napper Architects were commissioned by The City of Sunderland to carry out feasibility studies for a new Justice Centre on two separate city centre sites. The studies demonstrates the validity of providing a new building that will suit the current design recommendations and one that will also embody the key concept and ideas identified by the Department for Constitutional Affairs.

Theatre Royal, Newcastle upon Tyne

Napper Architects were commissioned to undertake the largest expansion in the theatre's 170 year history. The Theatre Royal development has greatly increased the size of the theatre with the additional 1400m² development of the former bank building on Market Street. Inside a new  public space has been designed to house a new Box Office, Bistro, Restaurant, Education space and links back to the existing listed foyer and auditorium.

Greater Manchester Courts, Manchester

A £54 million project to provide one magistrates court and one combined court building to be delivered under a PPP form of procurement. Currently at ITSFT stage, the buildings will achieve an excellent BREEAM rating and will provide high quality facilities under a 25 year lease.

Morpeth Town Hall, Morpeth

Napper Architects have completed the £550,000 remodelling of the 1714 Sir John Vanbrugh designed Morpeth Town Hall for The Greater Morpeth Development Trust.

The works bring new life to the building, returning the historic Butter Market from public toilets to its original glory as a new multi-use space, refurbishment of the Corn Market, Ballroom, Council Chamber, Mayor’s Parlour and Robing Room, and the sympathetic incorporation of new kitchen, toilets, DDA lift and heating, lighting and data services throughout.

North East Fire and Rescue Authority

The North East Fire and Rescue Authorities' Project is a regional PFI scheme for three fire authorities in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and County Durham. It comprises four community fire stations and a combined fire station and headquarters. The proposed buildings are community orientated reflecting the fire authorities’ focus on fire prevention and wider community safety. The project builds on our previous projects for Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue Service.
