North East Retail Centre, Dalton Park, County Durham

The £40 million factory retail shopping village was designed as part of an 84 acre land reclamation scheme to provide a public parkland setting with natural wetland areas and public art.

Forth Banks, Newcastle upon Tyne

Forth Banks was developed in conjunction with the Hanover Mill development for Mandale Commercial Ltd; providing the required parking provision for both schemes. In addition to the 215 parking spaces provided over 12 half levels (six floors) extending from basement level, four further floors of offices are provided above, benefiting from views over the Quayside to the East and up the Tyne Gorge to the West.

A 15 story tower is provided at the junction of Forth Banks with Skinnerburn Road, comprising 12 floors of residential apartments (37 Units) over 3  floors of offices in a cylindrical plan form, again benefiting from unrivalled views up and down the Tyne.

15000 m2 space planning and interior design fit out contract for the new build Proctor & Gamble regional headquarters.  The project involved two buildings completed in separate phases to provide a visually stimulating office environment for the relocated workforce.

Innovation Pods, Netpark, Sedgefield

Part of the Netpark science park the Innovation Pods, designed for client Helios Properties, are a cluster of 5 commercial units aimed speculatively at young high tech companies. The cubic pods are designed with their main aspect facing onto a central landscaped green that compliments the existing parkland setting.

Central Park, Darlington

Napper Architects have been responsible for the detailed masterplan of this new mixed use development in central Darlington, on a 75 acre site opposite the east coast mainline railway. The scheme will be developed by Commercial Estates Group (CEG), Keepmoat and Yuill Homes. The consortium and their design team led by Napper were successful in winning the bid for the site ahead of three other rival consortia.

River Quarter, Sunderland

Napper Architects were commissioned to design 2 floors of commercial space and 53 flats in the Sunniside area on the eastern side of Sunderland city centre, with an approximate value of £10 million for clients Helios properties and Gentoo Homes

Hanover Mill, Newcastle upon Tyne

The Bonded Warehouse on Newcastle Quayside was severely damaged by a number of fires over a decade before work finally commenced on its conversion into Hanover Mill.  The Structural design and method of construction had to be revisited several times during the period Napper Architects have been involved with the project, due to collapse and subsequent necessary demolition.  The remaining sections of the listed warehouse have been converted to provide 48 apartments, with a contemporary styled extension of the same scale providing a further 86 units. Off site parking has been provided in a second phase of development on Forth Banks taking the total development cost to £30 Million.

Hebburn, South Tyneside

As lead design consultants Napper Architects were responsible for the masterplan and detailed design proposals for the 20 acre (8 ha) town centre site in Hebburn, South Tyneside. The consortium led by Tesco has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the £40m reshaping of a Tyneside town centre. The new development will include a 4000 sq m Tesco supermarket on stilts, 200 new homes for Gentoo and Bellway, including 50 affordable units. In addition it will include community facilities with a new library and a customer service centre, a conference or gallery facility and a café. In addition it will comprise of  new units for smaller businesses, parking for shoppers and workers, a pedestrian route linking the shops to the houses and a sustainable landscape strategy that ties the two elements together.

New Retail Development, Hexham

This major new non-food retail development in the historic market town of Hexham will provide approximately 3500 sqm of retail floorspace.  The project was submitted for Planning Approval, on behalf of the Co-operative Group, in April 2008 following an extensive pre-application consultation which generated the strong support of the local people, reflecting the acknowledged need for an improved shopping offer in Hexham.
